Swaledale Festival, 28th May – 11th June
Well, the Swaledale Festival claims to be the “best music festival in Britain”. I don’t know about that but it does combine an array of concerts in different venues – chapels, churches, village halls, pubs, castles and barns – together with guided walks in the fabulous landscape of Swaledale in the Yorkshire Dales.
And the Festival has attracted a fantastic range of top-class musicians from around the world including Russia, Palestine, Korea, Czech Republic, Canada and, of course, Yorkshire. These include solo violinists, jazz guitarists, folk groups, brass bands, Arabic music and string quartets.
Plus there’s poetry, drama and art exhibitions. Something for everyone.
There are still tickets available but some of the events are sold out so check the programme and get your tickets booked.
